Marine Inboard Specialists
Last updated: July 23, 2026
Marine Inboard Specialists ships marine diesel engines, marine generators, transmissions, propulsion components and replacement parts throughout the United States and to selected international destinations.
This policy explains our processing times, delivery estimates, shipping charges and freight-delivery requirements.
1. Shipping destinations
We currently ship to:
- All 50 U.S. states and eligible U.S. territories.
- Selected international destinations, subject to product eligibility, carrier availability, export restrictions and customs requirements.
Large engines and generators cannot be delivered to P.O. boxes. A complete residential, commercial, marina, boatyard, freight-terminal or port address is required.
International availability does not mean every product can be shipped to every country. Shipping eligibility will be confirmed during checkout or before payment is accepted.
2. Business days and order cut-off
Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays.
Orders placed after 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, on weekends or on public holidays begin processing on the following business day.
Processing begins after:
- Payment has cleared.
- The product’s availability has been confirmed.
- Complete shipping and contact information has been received.
- Any necessary configuration or compatibility details have been confirmed.
3. Processing and delivery estimates
Estimated delivery time consists of two parts:
- Processing time: The time required to verify, prepare, inspect and package the order.
- Transit time: The time required for the carrier to deliver the shipment after dispatch.
| Product and shipping method | Processing time | Estimated transit time | Estimated total |
|---|---|---|---|
| In-stock parts shipped by ground carrier | 1–3 business days | 2–7 business days | 3–10 business days |
| In-stock engines or generators shipped by freight | 1–3 business days | 3–10 business days | 4–13 business days |
| Backordered or special-order products | 5–15 business days or the product-specific lead time | Depends on selected carrier | Confirmed before purchase |
| International orders | Product-specific | Depends on destination and shipping method | Confirmed before purchase |
These are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates. The applicable estimate will be displayed at checkout or provided in the written order confirmation.
If a special-order or backordered product requires more than 15 business days to prepare, its estimated dispatch date will be disclosed before payment or order confirmation.
4. Shipping charges
Shipping charges are calculated according to:
- Product weight and dimensions.
- Delivery destination.
- Selected carrier and service.
- Residential or commercial delivery.
- Liftgate, limited-access or appointment requirements.
- Insurance, customs documentation and other requested services.
Shipping charges will be displayed during checkout or included in a written freight quotation before payment is completed.
We will not add an undisclosed shipping charge after an order has been accepted. If the delivery information changes after purchase, any additional charge must be communicated to and approved by the customer.
5. Parts and accessory shipments
Smaller parts and accessories may be shipped through UPS, FedEx, USPS or another trackable carrier.
Available services may include:
- Standard ground shipping.
- Expedited shipping.
- Overnight shipping, where available.
Selecting expedited transit does not necessarily shorten the product’s stated processing time unless expedited processing is confirmed separately.
6. Engine and generator freight shipments
Marine engines, generators, transmissions and other oversized products are normally shipped on a secured pallet through an LTL or FTL freight carrier.
Standard freight delivery generally includes:
- Palletised freight preparation.
- Trackable carrier service.
- Delivery to the nearest safely accessible curb, loading area or commercial dock.
- Delivery appointment where provided by the carrier.
- Customer signature at delivery.
Standard freight delivery does not include:
- Installation.
- Unpacking.
- Placement inside a building, marina or vessel.
- Crane, forklift or rigging service.
- Removal of packaging.
- Disposal of an existing engine or generator.
Liftgate, residential, marina, construction-site and limited-access delivery may require additional charges. These requirements must be disclosed before the shipment is booked.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the delivery location can safely accommodate the freight vehicle and that suitable unloading equipment or personnel are available.
7. Shipping confirmation and tracking
After dispatch, we will send the available shipping information by email. Depending on the shipment, this may include:
- Carrier name.
- Tracking or freight reference number.
- Estimated delivery date or delivery window.
- Bill of Lading.
- Carrier contact information.
Freight carriers may contact the customer directly to schedule delivery. The customer must provide an accurate telephone number and respond to scheduling requests.
8. Shipping-address changes
Review the shipping address carefully before completing an order.
Contact us immediately if an address needs to be changed. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after the order has entered processing or has been transferred to the carrier.
Carrier rerouting, address-correction or redelivery charges caused by inaccurate information may be charged to the customer.
We will never change a high-value shipment’s delivery address without appropriate order and identity verification.
9. Inspecting freight deliveries
The customer or an authorised representative must inspect freight shipments at delivery.
Before signing the delivery receipt:
- Count the packages or pallets.
- Inspect the packaging for visible damage.
- Check for punctures, crushing, water exposure or broken wrapping.
- Record visible damage or missing items on the carrier’s delivery receipt.
- Take photographs of the shipment and packaging.
Signing a delivery receipt as undamaged may affect the carrier’s handling of a later freight claim.
Report visible damage, missing packages or incorrect products to Marine Inboard Specialists within 3 business days of delivery:
Email: support@marineinboardspecialists.com
Telephone: +1 (214) 937-0535
Keep the original product, packaging, pallet and delivery documents until the claim has been resolved.
10. Lost shipments
If tracking shows that a shipment has not moved or has not arrived within the expected timeframe, contact us.
We will work with the carrier to open a trace or freight claim. A replacement or refund may be issued after the carrier confirms the shipment is lost and the claim has been reviewed.
A package marked as delivered will require investigation before a replacement or refund can be approved.
11. International shipping
International orders are shipped only to eligible destinations using trackable freight, air-cargo, ocean-freight or parcel services.
Before payment, the customer will receive or be shown:
- The available shipping method.
- Estimated dispatch and transit time.
- Shipping cost.
- Applicable delivery terms.
- Known documentation requirements.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, the recipient is responsible for:
- Customs clearance.
- Import permits and licences.
- Import duties.
- VAT, sales taxes and other government charges.
- Customs brokerage and destination-port fees.
- Storage or demurrage caused by delayed clearance.
Customs processing can delay delivery and is outside the carrier’s estimated transit time. Marine Inboard Specialists does not control customs decisions or reimburse duties and taxes paid to government authorities.
12. Delays and availability changes
Delivery may be affected by severe weather, port congestion, customs inspections, carrier disruptions, labour disputes, manufacturer delays or other events outside our reasonable control.
If we learn that an order cannot be dispatched within the stated timeframe, we will contact the customer with an updated estimate and available options.
For a standard-stock product that has not shipped, the customer may request cancellation and a refund if the revised timeframe is unacceptable. Special-order and configured products remain subject to the cancellation conditions disclosed before purchase.
13. Refused and undeliverable shipments
A shipment may be returned to us when:
- The customer refuses delivery.
- The delivery address is incorrect or incomplete.
- No authorised recipient is available.
- The customer does not arrange freight delivery.
- International duties, taxes or customs fees are not paid.
Unless the refusal results from our error or confirmed shipping damage, the customer may be responsible for:
- Original shipping charges.
- Return freight.
- Carrier storage or redelivery charges.
- Customs and brokerage charges.
- The applicable 20% restocking fee.
Any deductions will be explained before the remaining refund is processed.
14. Returns and refunds
Eligible products may be returned within 30 calendar days of delivery, provided they are new, unused, uninstalled and returned with prior authorisation.
Customers are responsible for return shipping on voluntary returns. Marine Inboard Specialists is responsible for approved return shipping when we supplied an incorrect product or when an unused product arrived damaged or defective.
A 20% restocking fee applies to approved voluntary returns. Please review our complete Return, Refund & Cancellation Policy before purchasing or returning a product.
