At Marine Inboard Specialists, we’re committed to delivering premium marine diesel engines, marine generators, and expert-level service. We understand that ordering specialized equipment online requires confidence, which is why we’ve designed our return and refund policy to be fair, transparent, and customer-first.

Return Eligibility

To qualify for a return, items must:

  • Be unused, uninstalled, and in original packaging

  • Include all accessories, manuals, and documentation

  • Not be custom-built, special-order, or personalized items

  • Not include electrical components or items with broken safety seals

Important: Products that have been installed, used, or modified are not eligible for return.

Domestic Returns (U.S. Customers)

1. Request a Return Authorization (RMA)

Contact our support team within 30 days of delivery to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
Returns without an RMA will not be accepted.

2. Prepare Your Return

  • Pack the item securely in its original packaging

  • Include all components, manuals, and a copy of your invoice or order confirmation

3. Ship the Item

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping (unless due to our error)

  • We recommend insured, trackable shipping for safe delivery

4. Refund Processing

  • Once received and inspected, refunds are processed within 7–10 business days

  • Refunds are issued to your original payment method

Return Shipping & Fees

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs

  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable, unless we shipped a defective or incorrect item

  • A restocking fee (up to 20%) may apply to certain returns, excluding defective/mis-shipped items

Defective or Incorrect Items

Contact us within 3 business days of receiving a damaged or incorrect product.

We will:

  • Provide a prepaid return label

  • Ship a replacement or issue a full refund after inspection

Warranty Claims

Manufacturer warranties must be handled directly with the brand’s warranty department.
We do not process warranty claims on behalf of manufacturers.

Please review your engine’s Warranty Policy before purchase or submission.

International Returns

  • Initiate returns within 30 days of delivery

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping, customs duties, and import/export fees

  • Original shipping is non-refundable, except for defective/mis-shipped items

  • Use insured and trackable carriers only

Duties, Taxes & Brokerage Fees

Marine Inboard Specialists does not reimburse:

  • Duties

  • Import taxes

  • Brokerage/customs clearance fees

If a package is refused due to unpaid fees, the customer is liable for:

  • Round-trip shipping

  • Any applicable restocking fees

International Defective or Incorrect Shipments

If your item is defective or incorrect, please contact us immediately:

We will provide a prepaid return label or a full refund, depending on the issue.
